There are various dog flea treatments available to kill or get rid of fleas
on your dog or cat. One of the most mild, yet effective ones
is a natural treatment with Manuka tea tree oil. Fleas
absolutely hate the “smell” of this essential oil,
making it also a great repellant and flea prevention product.
Manuka Oil has proven anti-parasitic properties and can be the flea remedy for your
dog’s flea problem.
Here is how you apply Manuka Oil as natural flea medicine:
Use this dog flea medication outdoors since Manuka Oil can cause the
fleas to jump off your dog.
Per cup of warm water add approximately 1 teaspoon of Manuka Oil.
Fill this solution into a spray bottle. Always shake the bottle
before using it.
When you spray the mixture onto your animal
give it at least 10-15 minutes until it dries. Use the Manuka Oil
Spray once a day until the fleas are gone.
During the treatment period, isolate your animal from others.
Manuka Oil can also be also used to get rid of the dog louse.
A dog louse treatment works just as a dog flea treatment (see
above).
There is no need to worry about catching lice
from a dog, because the lice that infest dogs are usually not
interested in human blood. However it is important to get rid of the
lice because they are bothering your companion and decrease his
quality of life.
You can easily create your own dog
or cat flea shampoo to get rid of fleas by simply adding 5 drops of
Manuka tea tree oil to the regular dog or cat shampoo. When infested
with fleas bath your animal daily with this mixture for at least a
week, or until you are sure the fleas are gone.
You should put on gloves before removing a tick from your dog,
because ticks can transmit dangerous diseases to humans. Also be
sure to have enough light. Rub a little alcohol or Manuka tea tree
oil on the tick bite area to disinfect it. Use tweezers to grab the
tick and pull slowly and steadily. It is very important to remove
the complete tick with head. Sometimes the head stays under the skin
of your dog and can move even further inward. Therefore it is also
very important to remove the tick as soon as possible.
After the tick removal treat the tick bite area with essential, all
natural
Manuka Oil.
Manuka Oil helps disinfecting bite areas on animals and can prevent
dangerous skin infections. Manuka Oil is very soothing and has no
known side effects.
Once the tick is removed put the tick into
alcohol to make sure it is dead and not a danger for other dogs or
humans. Ticks are indeed very hard to kill. Just flushing a tick
down the sink or the toilet will not kill it because the tick can
crawl out.
If you have problems removing the tick, contact your vet for help
Due to its
anti-parasitic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties,
Manuka tea tree oil can be an effective dog and cat flea
remedy, louse medicine and tick bite
medication. It can also be used as product for parasite prevention
.
